Habitual cyber fraudster wanted across tri-commissionerates arrested in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Police arrested habitual offender K. Sudheer, 43, who was wanted in multiple cheating cases across the tri-commissionerates of Cyberabad, Rachakonda and Hyderabad City, officials said.

Sudheer was apprehended by the Kachiguda police on December 22, 2025, in connection with Crime No. 432/2025 registered under Sections 319, 318(4), 204 and 205 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 66(C) and 66(D) of the Information Technology Act, 2008.

Impersonation racket targeting RTC staff

Police said the accused posed as a Road Transport Corporation vigilance officer and extorted money from bus conductors. Investigators said Sudheer exploited negligence during long-distance journeys by secretly recording videos of conductors sleeping on duty.

He allegedly used WhatsApp profile photos of senior RTC officials and communicated in official language to intimidate conductors into paying money, police said.

Ten cases across police stations

Police said Sudheer confessed to involvement in 10 cases nine cheating cases and one two-wheeler theft registered at police stations in Kachiguda, Pochampally, Chikadpally, Medipally, Cherlapally, Falaknuma, Hayathnagar, Kulsumpura, Jawahar Nagar and Shamshabad.

A Redmi mobile phone and two SIM cards were seized in the Kachiguda case, while a two-wheeler was recovered in the Cherlapally case.

Past record and pending warrants

Police said Sudheer, an MBA graduate, had earlier worked as a sales manager with a health insurance firm between 2015 and 2017 and allegedly cheated people of ₹3 crore. Multiple cases under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code were registered against him at Meerpet and Rajendranagar police stations.

Two non-bailable warrants have been pending against him at Meerpet police station for the past four years, police added.

The arrest was made under the supervision of senior officers in East Zone, and the police commissionerate said the Kachiguda team was appreciated for the operation.
