H-FAST finds pest infestation at sweet, biscuit units
HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Food Safety Task Force (H-FAST), along with Food Safety Officer Dyvanidhi, conducted raids on manufacturing units producing sweets, cakes, cookies and Osmania biscuits, detecting multiple food safety violations.
During the inspections, the team found unhygienic processing conditions, pest infestation and other violations of food safety standards. Officials examined the manufacturing premises, storage areas and food handling practices as part of the inspection.
The Food Safety Department said the violations posed concerns over hygiene and compliance with the Food Safety and Standards Act. Action has been initiated against the units, and further proceedings will be taken in accordance with the law.
H-FAST has been conducting regular inspections across Hyderabad to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and to curb the manufacture and sale of unsafe food products.
