Gym trainer among three arrested with ganja in separate raids in Hyderabad

Telangana Excise Task Force seizes ganja in Dhoolpet, Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: The Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE), in coordination with Cyberabad police and Ramagundam police, arrested three persons in separate drug-related incidents and seized 1.6 kg of ganja and a car on Sunday, December 21.

In the first case, police arrested a 33-year-old gym trainer, Karthaka Praveen Kumar, from the KPHB area under Cyberabad limits. Police said he had travelled to Bidar and procured 400 grams of ganja for ₹10,000, which he allegedly planned to sell during upcoming New Year celebrations.

Officials said the accused was taken into custody following specific information and the ganja was seized during the operation.

In another incident, two persons Manoj, 28, and Manupati Ajay, 23 were arrested at the Ramagundam railway station. Police seized 1.2 kg of ganja concealed in small packets from their possession.

Accused procured ganja from Nagpur

Preliminary investigation revealed that the duo had travelled to Nagpur to procure the contraband and were transporting it by train, police said.

Cases have been registered in both incidents and further investigation is under way to identify possible links and supply networks, officials added.
