Fans take Guntur Kaaram celebrations to Hyderabad metro, video goes viral
Hyderabad: The fan frenzy was on full display when they disrupted the Metro on the night of December 31, turning public transport into a stage for their antics.
The fans of Superstar Maheh Babu had just finished watching their actor’s recent film Guntur Kaaram at Sudarshan Theatre, RTC Cross Roads and took the metro train to return home. Two special screenings of the Telugu blockbuster were held on December 31 and January 1, 2025.
Even after boarding the train, the fans were still in a celebratory mood. Oblivious of the surroundings, fans loudly chanted “Jai Jai Babu” inside a train, causing a disturbance that drew complaints from other passengers.
A video clip of the unruly behavior at the MGBS Metro station late at night has since gone viral. The video has the internet divided – a few netizens dismissed it as harmless while found this behaviour inappropriate in a closed environment like a metro. Whether it’s frenzy for a re-release, first-day-first-show celebrations, or over-the-top public displays, such actions disrupt others’ lives and disrespect public spaces.
Meanwhile, fans of the Telugu actor are eagerly waiting for the official launch of SSMB 29 on January 2, 2025, Thursday. SSMB 29 is a collaboration between director SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu. The event is being held at the Aluminium Factory in Hyderabad.
Earlier, director SS Rajamouli unveiled a sneak-peek of his thrilling location hunt across the stunning landscapes of Africa. Produced under the Durga Arts banner by KL Narayana, the film is expected to take the viewers on a globe-trotting adventure. The film script is written by veteran writer-director Vijayendra Prasad while the music was composed by Oscar-winning MM Keeravaani.
Some reports stated that Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran will be a part of the cast, however, no official announcement has confirmed it. The makers of the SSMB 29 are likely to commence the filming later this month and the movie is expected to be released in 2028.
