Gold, silver rates dip marginally in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Gold prices edged down marginally in Hyderabad on January 16, 2026, tracking weak trends in the bullion market. The rate of one tola of 22-carat gold stood at ₹1,31,450, down ₹200 from the previous day, while 24 carat gold slipped ₹220 to ₹1,43,400 per tola.
Silver prices registered a sharper fall. The metal was quoted at ₹3,06,000 per kg in the city, a decline of ₹4,000 compared with the previous session.
Market watchers said gold prices have remained volatile in recent weeks despite the wedding season, hovering around ₹1,30,000 per tola for 22-carat gold and about ₹1,40,000 for 24-carat gold. International cues, currency movements and import duties continue to influence domestic prices.
Hyderabad’s key jewellery markets remain concentrated in Panjagutta, Mehdipatnam, Tolichowki and Gulzar Houz. Gold continues to be viewed both as jewellery and a financial hedge, with investors citing liquidity and relatively stable returns.
Prominent jewellery houses in the city include Jauhari Jewellers in Toli Chowki, Jagadamba Pearls, Krishna Pearls & Jewellers, Manepally Jewellers, More Jewellers, Tibarumal Jewels, Shree Jewellers, Shri Ram Jewellers and Mangatrai Pearls & Jewellers.
