Three firms show interest in Golconda ropeway study

HYDERABAD: Three companies have expressed interest in preparing a feasibility report for the proposed ropeway project between Golconda Fort and the Qutb Shahi Tombs.
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) had earlier invited tenders to select a consultancy to study the project’s cost, capacity and other parameters. Rail India Technical and Economic Service (RITES), Knight Frank India, and K and J Projects are among those that responded.
Officials said technical bids have been opened, and financial bids will be opened on September 19. The plan is to build a 1.5 km ropeway connecting the fort with the tombs, allowing tourists to travel easily between the two sites.
The project is planned under the public-private partnership model.
