Golconda Police arrest four in social media influencer’s murder
HYDERABAD: Golconda Police have solved the murder of social media influencer Shaik Mahboob, popularly known as Masood Chandi, and arrested four persons in connection with the case.
Police identified the arrested accused as Shaik Zahed alias Sohail, Zeeshan Nawab alias Jaber, Amer Nawab alias Laddu and Nafeez Sultana.
According to investigators, Masood Chandi, 26, was murdered at his residence in Kumarwadi on June 12 following a dispute linked to his love marriage with Rukshar Begum.
Police said Sohail, the victim’s brother-in-law, had opposed the marriage and allegedly conspired with the other accused to attack him.
According to the investigation, the accused entered Masood Chandi’s house armed with an iron rod, a knife and wooden sticks. They allegedly assaulted him, causing fatal injuries.
The victim’s father was also injured while trying to protect his son during the attack.
Police seized an iron rod and a knife allegedly used in the offence. The accused were produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody.
Further investigation is under way.
