Golconda Fort traffic diversions for August 15 Independence Day

Hyderabad: Hyderabad police have issued a comprehensive traffic advisory for the Independence Day celebrations at Rani Mahal Lawns, Golconda Fort, Hyderabad. The event is scheduled for August 15, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.

In preparation for the event, the following traffic and diversion arrangements will be in effect:

1. Road closures: The road from Ramdevguda to Golconda Fort will be closed to general vehicular traffic from 6:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. on August 15, 2024.

2. Designated access for car pass holders: A (Gold), A (White), and B (Blue) car pass holders will be permitted entry from Ramdevguda to Golconda Fort.

Invitees coming from Secunderabad, Banjara Hills, Masab Tank, and Mehdipatnam should follow the route via Rethi Bowli and Nanal Nagar Junctions, turning left towards Balika Bhavan, Langar House Flyover, Tippu Khan Bridge, Ramdevguda Junction, and then right towards Makkai Darwaza and Golconda Fort Gate.

3. Parking Instructions:
A (Gold) pass holders should park opposite the Fort Main Gate, towards Fateh Darwaza Road (17.385226, 78.403060).

A (White) pass holders should use the Golconda Bus Stop (17.384977, 78.403576), which is 50 meters from the Fort Main Gate.

B (Blue) pass holders should park at the Football Ground (17.390429, 78.4004001).

C (Green) pass holders coming from Seven Tombs and Banjara Darwaza should turn left and park at Owaisi Ground. Those coming from Langar House under the flyover via Fateh Darwaza should take a right turn at Bada Bazaar and park at Owaisi/GHMC Playground (17.388736, 78.404654), 500 meters from the Fort Main Gate.

D (Red) pass holders should follow the route via Shaikpet Nala, Tolichowki, Seven Tombs, Banjara Darwaza, and park at Priyadarshini School (17.387360, 78.401175).

E (Black) pass holders, including the general public, should park at HUDA Park (17.379521, 78.413464) after proceeding via the Langar House flyover and Fateh Darwaza. Alternatively, those coming from Shaikpet and Tolichowki can park at Seven Tombs (17.397341, 78.4000369) and Deccan Park (17.395096, 78.397871), and use the free RTC buses provided to reach the venue.

4. Exit Routes: Vehicles of A (Gold), A (White), and B (Blue) pass holders will exit through Makkai Darwaza, Ramdev Guda, and Langar House. C pass holders will exit via Bada Bazaar, Fateh Darwaza, Banjara Darwaza, and Seven Tombs. D pass holders will exit via Banjara Darwaza and Seven Tombs. E pass holders (general public) should exit via the routes they entered.

5. Identification and cooperation: All invitees are requested to display their car passes prominently on the left side of the windshield for easy identification. They are advised to arrive on time as indicated on their invitation cards and to cooperate with the traffic police stationed along the routes, alighting points, and parking areas.

6. Secunderabad Parade Grounds: Traffic will be diverted at Tivoli Junction towards Brooke Bond and N.C.C Junction. Traffic from Tivoli towards Plaza will be restricted between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on a need basis.

The police requested residents in the vicinity of Golconda Fort not to park their vehicles on the main roads leading to the Fort to ensure smooth traffic flow.

Hyderabad city police urged commuters to follow traffic updates on Hyderabad Traffic Police’s Facebook page for live updates. All citizens are asked to take note of the above diversions, take alternate routes to reach their destinations, and cooperate with the Hyderabad Traffic Police.
