Historic Golconda Fort to host ‘Know Your Army’ mela

Hyderabad: In an effort to motivate young aspirants to join the Armed Forces, the Indian Army is hosting the ‘Know Your Army’ Mela 2025 from January 3-5, 2025 in Hyderabad. The three-day army fair is being organized at the historic Golconda Fort in the city.

The ‘Know Your Army’ Mela is being organized by Indian Army under the aegis of Headquarters Telangana and Andhra Sub Area (TASA) and coordinated by the Artillery Centre, Hyderabad. The event serves as a grand prelude to the Army Day Parade 2025, a defence release said here on Wednesday.

During the fair, the visitors will find it more than just an exhibition. It will be a celebration of the Indian Army’s strength, discipline, and dedication to the nation. The best part of the mela is that all citizens will have a chance to interact with Army personnel, see cutting-edge military equipment, and learn about the inspiring legacy of the Armed Forces.

The public will also get a chance to witness the Indian Army’s technological prowess, and gain insights into its operational capabilities. The objective of the mela is to inspire and motivate young aspirants to join the Armed Forces.

At the expo, the Indian Army personnel will showcase artillery guns, small arms, and advanced operational tools and minor equipment stalls featuring communication systems, engineering tools, Nuclear Biological and Chemical (NBC) warfare suits, and more.

The Golconda Fort, renowned for its historical and cultural significance, provides a majestic backdrop for this event. Its accessibility and iconic stature promise to captivate visitors and enhance their experience.

A dedicated recruitment booth with detailed information about career opportunities in the Armed Forces will also be displayed during the 3-day event.

The visitors will not only be able to click their pics with the military equipment but will also enjoy live performances by military bands and exhibitions of gallantry medals, stories of valor, and other historical memorabilia also be showcased during the event.
