Goa liquor smuggling busted near Hyderabad; 127 bottles seized

HYDERABAD: Acting on a tip-off, the Special Task Force (STF) busted an alleged liquor smuggling operation near Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and seized 127 bottles of duty-paid liquor transported illegally from Goa.
The STF ‘A’ Team, led by Anji Reddy, conducted vehicle checks near Pahadi Shareef, close to the airport, following inputs about liquor being moved via flights and redistributed locally.
Officials seized a total of 111.5 litres of liquor, with an estimated value of ₹2.5 lakh.
Two cases registered in connection with seizures
In the first case, police seized 32 bottles from Muniganti Vinod Kumar, a resident of Warangal.
In the second case, 95 bottles were seized in a separate operation linked to suspected transport routes between Delhi and Goa.
All seized liquor, along with the accused, was handed over to the Meerpet Excise Station for further investigation and legal action.
Officials said the operation was part of intensified checks to curb illegal liquor movement through air routes.
