Goa liquor bottles seized at Hyderabad airport during excise drive

Hyderabad: Excise officials seized 58 liquor bottles allegedly brought from Goa during inspections at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad.

Officials said the operation was carried out following information that passengers were transporting liquor from Goa through air travel.

Enforcement teams conduct coordinated inspection

Teams from the Ranga Reddy Enforcement Wing, along with officials from the Shamshabad, Serilingampally and Chevella Excise stations, conducted special checks at the airport.

During the inspections, officials identified and seized 58 liquor bottles bearing Goa labels for alleged violations of excise regulations.

Seized stock handed over for investigation

The seized liquor stock was handed over to the Meerpet Excise police station for further investigation and legal action.

Excise officials said special enforcement drives would continue to curb the illegal transportation and sale of liquor in the district.
