Hyderabad: Karumuru Priyanka Reddy, a Computer Science and Engineering student from GITAM School of Technology, Hyderabad, has secured a placement at Amazon with an annual package of ₹1.4 crore during the campus recruitment drive.

Sharing her journey, Priyanka expressed that GITAM played a significant role in shaping her career. “The institution provided state-of-the-art laboratories, world-class infrastructure, and a fully equipped Knowledge Resource Centre (KRC), all of which enhanced my learning experience. The supportive academic environment allowed me to work on complex projects and effectively process large datasets,” she said.

She credited the coding training, mock interview tools, and guidance from faculty members for helping her prepare for the recruitment process. “I am especially grateful to my faculty members and capstone project guide, whose mentorship was instrumental in my career growth,” she added. Priyanka also acknowledged the Career Guidance Centre (CGC) for its continuous support in helping her secure her dream job.

GITAM Hyderabad celebrates Achievers’ Day 2025 with recognition of student success

GITAM Deemed to be University, Hyderabad, celebrated Achievers’ Day with great enthusiasm, recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of its students in placements and higher education. The event, organized by the Career Guidance Centre (CGC), highlighted the university’s commitment to academic excellence, career readiness, and holistic student development.

This year, GITAM saw participation from more than 270 companies during its recruitment season, with over 40 companies scheduled to visit in the coming months. Students from a variety of disciplines secured prestigious job offers from leading firms, while others gained admissions to renowned universities in India and abroad. Many students were also able to convert internships at top-tier companies into full-time positions with attractive salary packages.

In a notable achievement, PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) selected three GITAM students for the first time as Fixed Term Engineers (E-II Grade).

Students from programs including B.Tech, M.Tech, BBA, B.Com, MBA, B.Pharmacy, B.Sc., M.Sc., and B.A. were successfully placed in a wide range of sectors such as IT services, product development, core engineering, and pharmaceuticals. The highest salary package in technology was ₹1.4 crore per annum, while management students received up to ₹10 lakh per annum. Science graduates saw packages of up to ₹16.42 lakh per annum, while humanities students earned up to ₹8.5 lakh per annum. Pharmacy graduates received a package of ₹6 lakh per annum.

On average, students from the GITAM School of Technology were offered ₹6 lakh per annum, while those from the School of Business had an average package of ₹7.5 lakh per annum.

Top recruiters included Amazon, which offered the highest package of ₹1.4 crore, followed by Atlassian with ₹60 lakh, Microsoft with ₹51 lakh, and Virtusa International with ₹47.9 lakh. Other notable recruiters included Silicon Labs, Federal Bank, Thoughtworks, Oracle, Deloitte, HSBC, and Deliveroo.

In terms of numbers, the highest number of offers came from Accenture (91 offers), followed by Tech Mahindra (87), Rinex Technologies (70), Ernst & Young GDS (54), TCS (34), and Cognizant (27).

The Achievers’ Day ceremony began at 9:30 a.m. and featured addresses from distinguished industry leaders, Dr. K. Suresh Kumar, Associate President – HR & COE at Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.; Padma Duddu, Director – Human Resources at Inovalon; and Karthik Yalamanchili, Senior Director & General Manager, India Tech at Accurate.

The speakers highlighted the importance of lifelong learning and encouraged students to remain curious and committed to continuous growth in their personal and professional lives.

Prof. D.S. Rao, Pro Vice-Chancellor, and Prof. V.R. Sastry, Director of the GITAM School of Technology and Dean of Core Engineering, congratulated the achievers and acknowledged the efforts of the faculty in shaping future leaders. They also highlighted the role of purpose-driven education in achieving meaningful success.

The event was attended by proud parents, faculty members, and department heads, including Prof. G. Siva Kumar, Dr. Divya Kirti Gupta, Dr. Motahar Reza, Dr. Bandan Kumar Mishra, and Pradeep Kote. Dr. K. Mamatha, Director of CGC, delivered the welcome address, and Prof. P. Trinatha Rao, Assistant Director of GST, proposed the vote of thanks.
