GHMC invites tenders for smart parking facility at KBR park
Hyderabad: In a first, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is set to construct a multi-level smart (mechanised) parking complex at KBR Park in the Jubilee Hills area. The civic body has invited tenders for the project.
The KBR park was chosen as the site for the parking complex due to a lack of sufficient public parking facilities in the area. The roads surrounding the park carry heavy vehicular traffic and people have long complained about the lack of parking spaces.
The mechanised parking complex will feature a rotary type design accommodating 27 cars with six units for parking, each unit capable of holding 12 cars. Moreover, a portion of the complex will provide facilities such as coffee vending kiosks, EV charging points, mini marts etc.
The car owners can expect real-time parking updates, use of smart cards, online payments, live slot tracking, and advance slot booking at the smart parking complex.
