Ghmc Property Tax

HYDERABAD: In a move to promote digital governance and ease of access, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has announced that property tax and trade licence services are now available online through its official website https://www.ghmc.gov.in.

The new online services, accessible via the “Online Services” tab, were earlier available only at MeeSeva centres. Citizens can now complete property tax and trade licence transactions from home by submitting their Property Tax Identification Number (PTIN), Trade Identification Number (TIN), or Vacant Land Tax Number (VLTN) and uploading relevant documents such as sale deeds.

Existing and new services available

The GHMC already offered online services for property tax self-assessment, revision, assessment exemption for ex-servicemen, mobile number update, correction of door or owner name, and vacancy remission.

Under the new initiative, additional services have been introduced, including online mutation of property tax and vacant land tax, blocking of duplicate or demolished property tax numbers, blocking of vacant land tax numbers for new constructions, and trade licence number blocking for closed or duplicate trades.

Boost to citizen convenience and transparency

Once applications are submitted online, they are automatically routed to GHMC revenue officials for verification and approval. The corporation said the move is aimed at improving service delivery, minimising physical visits, and supporting Hyderabad’s broader mission towards digital transformation.

The GHMC urged citizens to use the online platform to ensure faster and more transparent civic transactions.
