HYDERABAD: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation’s (GHMC) Mega Special Sanitation Drive continued on Day 9 on Wednesday, covering 300 wards across the city, with a special focus on removal of green waste.
Sanitation teams carried out intensive cleaning operations in residential colonies, parks, roadsides and public spaces, aiming to ensure visible improvement in cleanliness across Greater Hyderabad.
Officials said the Day 9 drive prioritised clearance of dry leaves, garden waste and pruning debris to prevent accumulation and reduce mosquito breeding, particularly ahead of seasonal health risks.
GHMC urged residents to cooperate by segregating green waste separately and handing it over only to Swachh Autos. Citizens were also advised against dumping garden waste on roads or in open plots.
For bulk green waste disposal, residents have been asked to inform GHMC in advance to enable timely collection and safe disposal, officials added.
