GHMC orders meat shops shut in Hyderabad on October 2
HYDERABAD: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has ordered all sheep, goat and cattle slaughterhouses, along with meat and beef shops, to remain closed on October 2. The closure will mark Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti.
Shops to remain closed across GHMC limits
The civic body issued the order citing the significance of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti. It also referred to a resolution passed by the GHMC Standing Committee.
GHMC Commissioner R V Karnan has asked the Hyderabad police commissioners to support civic officials in enforcing the order.
The closure will apply to slaughterhouses and meat and beef shops across the GHMC limits.
The GHMC Chief Public Relations Officer issued the notice.
