GHMC engineer Chinna Reddy caught taking ₹15 lakh bribe
HYDERABAD: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Wednesday caught a senior engineer of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) while allegedly accepting a ₹15 lakh bribe.
ACB trap at Kukatpally zonal office
The accused, identified as Chinna Reddy, senior engineer of GHMC’s Kukatpally zone, was caught during a trap laid by ACB officials at the Kukatpally zonal office.
Demand for clearing contractor bills
According to sources, the engineer allegedly demanded the bribe from a contractor for clearing pending bills. Following the demand, the contractor approached the ACB, which organised the trap.
ACB officials conducted searches at the Kukatpally zonal office and are examining documents related to the case. Further inquiries are under way into Chinna Reddy’s assets and other related aspects, officials said.
