GHMC sets timelines for major Hyderabad infrastructure projects

HYDERABAD:Â Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Chief Engineer Sahadev Rathnakar on Monday conducted a field inspection of major infrastructure works, following directions from the GHMC Commissioner to expedite ongoing projects across the city.
The inspection covered the Moosarambagh bridge, Nalgonda X Roads steel flyover, additional ramps near Zoo Park, and road widening works in Charminar and Rajendranagar zones. Superintending Engineer, Executive Engineer, Deputy Executive Engineers and representatives of executing agencies were present.
Moosarambagh bridge land acquisition process reviewed
Reviewing the Moosarambagh bridge works, the Chief Engineer directed officials to fast-track the land acquisition process and clear pending compensation cheques without delay.
He stressed the need for early handover of properties to avoid further setbacks and accelerate construction.
April 30 target for Nalgonda X Roads flyover
At the Nalgonda X Roads Owaisi steel flyover project, the Chief Engineer assessed structural progress. Officials informed him that four slab portions are targeted for completion this week.
He instructed the agency to speed up ramp works and complete the main steel bridge by April 30.
The team also inspected additional ramp and service road works near Zoo Park. Officials were told to ensure quality execution and adhere to timelines to help decongest traffic in surrounding areas.
Road widening works underway in Charminar and Rajendranagar zones were reviewed. The Chief Engineer emphasised coordinated execution and public safety measures to minimise inconvenience during the construction period.
Reiterating the Commissioner’s directions, he said all works must be completed within stipulated timelines with strict quality standards to enhance urban mobility and infrastructure efficiency.
