Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Hyderabad Range Unit-2, arrested Vipperla Srinivas, Deputy Director of Urban Bio-Diversity, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), for accepting a bribe.

Vipperla Srinivas, who holds charge as Deputy Director for both Serilingampally and Charminar Zones, was caught red-handed at 1:35 p.m. on April 15 after demanding a bribe of ₹2,20,000 and accepting ₹70,000 from a complainant.

The bribe was in exchange for clearing check-measured bills related to the supply of plant material to the Urban Bio-Diversity Wing, GHMC, Charminar Zone.

The investigation revealed that Srinivas had already received ₹1,50,000 from the complainant prior to the incident. A chemical test confirmed bribe traces on the officer’s right-hand fingers. The money was recovered at his instance.

Srinivas was taken into custody and will be produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Nampally. Further investigation is ongoing.

Citizens are urged to report any bribe demands by public servants to the ACB by calling the toll-free number 1064. Complaints can also be sent via WhatsApp at 9440446106 or through ACB’s official social media platforms. Identities of complainants will be kept confidential.
