Hyderabad MMTS passengers seek more Ghatkesar services

HYDERABAD: Passengers travelling on the Hyderabad MMTS route between Ghatkesar and Bharatnagar are facing difficulties due to the operation of only one MMTS service on the corridor. Students, daily wage workers and information technology employees said the train timings do not match office and college schedules, causing delays in reaching their destinations.
Passengers demand additional MMTS trips
Commuters said they have repeatedly urged railway authorities to operate at least 10 services a day, including five morning and five evening trips, but no action has been taken so far. They demanded that the existing Ghatkesar–Ramachandrapuram service be terminated at Bharatnagar station instead, allowing authorities to increase the number of trips on the route.
At present, the MMTS service leaves Ghatkesar at 7.30 am and reaches Lingampalli at 9.15 am via Charlapalli, Neredmet, Ammuguda, Bhoodevinagar, Suchitra Centre, Ferozguda, Sanathnagar, Bharatnagar, Borabanda, Hitec City, Hafeezpet and Chandanagar. The service then proceeds to Ramachandrapuram.
Office commuters seek early morning connectivity
The return service departs from Ramachandrapuram and reaches Lingampalli at 5 pm before arriving in Ghatkesar at 7 pm. It later operates up to Sanathnagar and returns to Ghatkesar by 10 pm.
Passengers said the present return service starting from Tellapur after 5 pm offers little benefit to office employees. They requested railway authorities to begin services from Tellapur at 6.20 am to help commuters reach workplaces on time.
Passengers also said increasing MMTS trips up to Bharatnagar would make travel to Charlapalli easier for residents in western parts of the city. Those travelling from Bharatnagar to Lingampalli could use existing services originating from Nampally and Falaknuma without inconvenience.
