Gas cylinder blast at Crescent Café in Ameerpet injures five; One critical
Hyderabad: A gas cylinder explosion occurred early this morning, around 5 a.m., at Crescent Café & Bakers in Ameerpet, Hyderabad. The blast injured five people, one of whom is in critical condition.
The explosion was so powerful that it damaged the walls of a nearby building, Hotel Hari Dosa. Local residents and authorities quickly rushed the injured to a hospital. Police officials arrived at the scene and launched an investigation into the cause of the explosion. Authorities have warned of strict actions against negligent handling of gas cylinders.
In the wake of the incident, local residents raised concerns about the safety of gas cylinders, particularly in food stalls and small eateries. They have called on authorities to implement stricter regulations to prevent similar accidents in the future, fearing that inadequate safety measures could lead to more severe incidents.
In a related incident, a 37-year-old ragpicker, S Nagaraju, was killed in a mysterious explosion at a garbage dump in Kushaiguda on Saturday. CCTV footage from a nearby shop captured the explosion, which has since gone viral on social media.
Nagaraju, a resident of Neredmet, was cleaning garbage when he likely encountered unknown chemicals that triggered the blast. The force of the explosion threw him into the air, and he was found dead at the scene.
The explosion occurred near a transformer, and forensic teams have collected samples from the site for analysis.
Earlier this year, in January, a 35-year-old woman named Neelamma was injured in a similar explosion at a garbage dump in Balanagar, Ranga Reddy Nagar. Neelamma, who was clearing trash to find discarded items, attempted to open a metal container that exploded when struck. She sustained minor injuries and was treated at a nearby hospital.
