Food Safety Flying Squad finds hygiene violations at Garden Restaurant in Secunderabad
HYDERABAD: The Food Safety Flying Squad of Telangana inspected Garden Restaurant in Secunderabad and found multiple violations of food safety and hygiene norms, prompting action under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
Inspection reveals hygiene and food safety lapses
According to the Food Safety Department, officials found a housefly infestation, poor sanitation, uncovered and unlabelled food items, and conditions that posed a risk of cross-contamination during the inspection.
The team also observed unhygienic refrigerators, improper food storage practices, and inadequate maintenance of food handling areas.
Mandatory records not maintained
Officials said the restaurant had failed to maintain mandatory records, including pest control documentation, medical fitness certificates of food handlers, and water analysis reports.
The department said necessary action has been initiated against the establishment under the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
