Ganja smuggled from Araku to Hyderabad seized, 9 held in Secunderabad

Hyderabad: A major drug bust led by the Commissionerβs Task Force, North Zone, along with the Ramgopalpet Police, resulted in the arrest of seven individuals involved in the illegal ganja trade at the James Street Railway Station parking area in Secunderabad. The authorities seized 8 kilograms of ganja, valued at Rs. 2,40,000, and also apprehended two consumers of the drug.
The main accused have been identified as Tamata Sanjay, also known as Tuna (24), and his cousin Tamata Pavan, known as Dambar (26), both of whom are rowdy sheeters with the Marredpally Police Station. Sanjay, the key peddler, allegedly orchestrated the transportation of ganja from Araku to Hyderabad with the help of his cousin Pavan and other associates.
The arrested individuals include Jwala Deepanshu Kumar, also known as Bad Boy (22), a Zomato delivery boy from Yapral, Medchal Malkajigiri; Dappu Kiran Kumar (19), a worker at Mediplus in Babaguda, Medchal Malkajigiri; Koguru Naveen Kumar, known as Laddu or Chintu (22), a car driver from Shamirpet, Medchal Malkajigiri; Muthu Krishna Rohith Kumar (26), a snake catcher from Lothukunta, Secunderabad, who also acted as a financier for the operation; and Marpu Joel Vanshika, known as Smiley (22), an electrician and contractor from Yapral, Medchal Malkajigiri.
Two ganja consumers were also arrested during the operation. They have been identified as Thota Harshavardhan (27), a private employee from Neredmet, Medchal Malkajigiri, and Dasari Dikshit Sai Kumar, also known as Kanna (23), a Rapido driver from Tukaramgate, Secunderabad.
An additional suspect, Subba Rao, believed to be the main ganja supplier, is still at large. Authorities are continuing their search for him.

The operation was carried out under the leadership of Inspector K. Saidulu, with the assistance of Sub-Inspectors Srinivasulu Dasu, P. Gnanadeep, and C. Raghavendra Reddy, along with T. Narsing Rao, SHO of Ramgopalpet Police Station, and his team. The investigation has revealed that the accused had been frequently bringing ganja from Araku and distributing it to local consumers.
Tamata Pavan also has a pending non-bailable warrant in connection with a house burglary case registered at Bowenpally Police Station.
