Kukatpally tea stall operator arrested in Secunderabad for selling ganja chocolates

Hyderabad: The Excise Enforcement teams apprehended a person on Thursday, January 30, 2025, near Secunderabad Railway Station for illegally transporting ganja chocolates from Rajasthan to Hyderabad’s Kukatpally.
The arrested individual has been identified as Gorakh Saha, a native of Uttar Pradesh.
During interrogation, it was revealed that Gorakh Saha had been selling ganja chocolates in and around hostel areas in Kukatpally, operating through his tea stall.
Acting on intelligence regarding the illegal transportation of ganja chocolates by train from Rajasthan, the Special Task Force (STF) teams set up surveillance and intercepted the accused. The Excise team seized 24 kilograms of ganja chocolate packets from Gorakh Saha.
A total of 120 packets containing ganja chocolates were found, with each packet containing 40 chocolates.
During interrogation, the accused admitted that each ganja chocolate was being sold for Rs. 40 in the Kukatpally area.
The estimated value of the seized ganja chocolates is around Rs. 2 lakhs. The accused and seized items have been handed over to the Secunderabad Excise Police Station for further investigation.
CI Chandrashekhar, Bikshareddy, Venkateshwarlu, and Nagaraju led the operation as part of the ABCD STF teams.
Excise Enforcement Director V. B. Kamalasan Reddy congratulated the STF teams on their successful operation in seizing the illegal ganja chocolates.
