Knife wielding Gang robbing in MMTS nabbed by Kacheguda railway police
Kachiguda: A robbery gang who robbed a CRPF Sub-Inspector at knifepoint in a running MMTS train was nabbed by the Kachiguda Railway Police on Thursday.
Going further into the details, on April 26 during late night the victim Sub-Inspector in Central Reserve police force (CRPF) was travelling in a MMTS local Train bound to Falaknuma. He was alone in the compartment. When the train reached Yakutpura Railway station at 12:30 in the night, the gang of three members who boarded the running train had targeted the victim who was sitting alone.
The accused approached him, demanded the cash, phones, gold jewellery by wielding a knife, when the victim confronted, the accused inflicted injury to victim’s right hand, and robbed Gold chain, two mobile phones, and Rs.700, alighted at uppuguda railway station and fled away. Kachiguda railway police jumped into action after receiving a complaint from the victim.
All the accused hail from Hyderabad
On Thursday morning hours at around 5:30, while R.Yellappa, Inspector of Police, RPS Kachiguda, along with Government Railway police(GRP) and Railway protection force (RPF) staff performing checking in Malakpet railway station premises, noticed four persons moving under suspicious manner and on seeing police, they tried to fled away. Subsequently the police detained the four persons. When checked, the police found two knives, a broken gold chain, a phone and smart watch in their possession. When questioned the accused confessed about the crime which led to their arrest.
Investigation revealed that all the accused persons hail from Hyderabad, not doing any work and looking for easy earning. All of them formed into a gang led by Mohammed Ibrahim who was involved in six criminal cases.
“On the day of the robbery, prime accused Mohammed Ibrahim dropped the other accused Mohd Touheed, Mohammed Anasuddin and Mohammed Muqeet at Yakutpura Railway station. After the robbery Mohammed Ibrahim picked them up at uppuguda Railway station,” said Kachiguda railway police.
The arrested accused persons were produced before the court for judicial custody and further investigation is underway.
