Gajwel hospital ensures safe delivery for 139-kg woman
GAJWEL: A pregnant woman weighing 139 kg delivered safely at the government hospital in Gajwel of Siddipet district.
Sairam Pooja, a resident of Yapral in Medchal–Malkajgiri district, was admitted for delivery. She was suffering from obesity and thyroid issues. Earlier, the family consulted private hospitals, where doctors said the delivery would be complicated and estimated expenses of ₹2 lakh.

The family, worried about the risks, approached hospital superintendent Dr Annapurna seeking help to ensure the safe birth of the child.
Doctors perform surgery, ensure safe childbirth
Under her supervision, a medical team comprising doctors Manjula, Triveni, Susheela, Satish and Mahipal performed surgery. Pooja delivered a baby girl weighing 3.75 kg.
Both mother and child are safe after the procedure.
