Gajularamaram residents struggle as road access blocked for two years

Listen to Story

Hyderabad: Residents and commuters in the Gajularamaram, Hyderabad, have voiced their frustration over ongoing road access issues caused by Empire Delta Projects, which has obstructed a public road for the past two years. This blockade has resulted in significant hardships for local residents and daily commuters, who are unable to use the road.

Speaking with the Hyderabad Mail, Local resident Sai Teja expressed his concerns, stating, “There is a road construction ongoing, and across the way, a gate has been closed. This is not private property or a gated community; it connects several internal colonies. A person has closed the gate, creating obstacles for the community. Even after GHMC officials inspected the situation and instructed him to reopen the gate, he has refused to comply.”

Sai Teja highlighted the ongoing issue with Empire Delta Projects, explaining, “They are objecting to and restricting common public access to the road. This person has installed a gate, which has been creating inconvenience for residents for the past two years. This closure causes daily suffering for hundreds of commuters and is punishable under Section 126 of the BNS Act.”

In a series of posts on X, Sai Teja further highlighted the plight of the commuters, “Due to road repair work, the #TrafficJam problem has worsened. I request that action be taken to address this issue. #RoadSafety #Hyderabad.” In another tweet, he stated, “M/S Empire Delta Projects has illegally blocked the public road, disrupting residents and commuters for two years. Despite visits from @DC_Gajularamarm, the issue remains unresolved. Such activities violate Section 126 of the BNS Act. #TrafficJam #PublicAccess #RoadObstruction.”

Residents are urging authorities to take immediate action to restore public access to the road and alleviate the ongoing traffic congestion in the area.
