Gadwal Vijayalakshmi appointed Telangana Planning Board vice-chairman
HYDERABAD: The Telangana government has appointed Gadwal Vijayalakshmi as Vice-Chairman of the Telangana State Planning Board with the rank of Cabinet Minister.
The appointment was issued through Government Order (GO) Rt No. 1289 by the General Administration (General Law & Coordination) Department on September 3, 2026. It takes effect immediately.
Vijayalakshmi is identified in the order as the former Chairperson of the Telangana State Commission for Women.
Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju issued the order. Copies were sent to senior officials across the Secretariat, heads of departments, district collectors, chief planning officers and other concerned authorities.
The government order also directs the Planning (IV) Department and other departments to take necessary action following the appointment.
The appointment comes after the government rescinded G Chinna Reddy’s appointment as Vice-Chairman of the Planning Board. The government also decided to appoint Nerella Sharada as Chairperson of the Telangana State Commission for Women, according to reports
