Gaddar Telangana Film Awards receives 1,248 nominations; Actress Jayasudha chairs jury

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Government has introduced the Gaddar Telangana Film Awards to honor excellence in cinema. A jury meeting, chaired by renowned actress Jayasudha, took place on Tuesday at the FDC Conference Hall.
Dr. S. Harish, Managing Director of the Telangana Film Development Corporation (TFDC), announced that a 15-member jury has been formed, with Jayasudha serving as chairperson. He also revealed that a total of 1,248 nominations have been received across various categories, and 1,172 for individual awards and 76 for feature films, children’s films, debut films, documentaries/short films, film criticism, and books.
The screening of the nominations will begin on April 21. During the meeting, the jury discussed the evaluation process.
Jayasudha, speaking at the meeting, acknowledged the challenge of her role and assured the public that the selection process would be handled with sincerity and dedication.
Dil Raju, Chairman of TFDC, addressed the jury members and highlighted the importance of impartiality and integrity in the evaluation process. He explained that the awards aim to bring national recognition to the Telugu film industry.
This marks the first time in 14 years that the state government is presenting film awards, with Dil Raju noting that such a strong response had not been seen even during the unified Andhra Pradesh.
