HYDERABAD: A luxury Mercedes-Benz car created chaos in Gachibowli on Saturday morning after it rammed a vehicle from behind and dragged a traffic constable on its bonnet, police said.

Gachibowli police registered two separate cases and remanded the accused, Gurrampati Tarun, to judicial custody. A court sent him to 14 days’ judicial custody. He was shifted to Kandi jail in Sangareddy district. Police collected CCTV footage related to the incident.

According to a complaint filed by Rahul at 12.30 pm on Saturday, he was driving from Narsingi towards Kukatpally when a white Mercedes-Benz car hit his vehicle from behind near Nanakramguda. He lost control and rammed the divider. The accused allegedly fled towards Gachibowli without stopping.

On receiving information, traffic constable Narsimulu, who was on duty at the IIIT junction in Gachibowli, tried to stop the car. The driver initially slowed down but suddenly accelerated towards the constable. Narsimulu fell on the bonnet while trying to save himself.
