Gachibowli villa theft: Gold, diamonds stolen
HYDERABAD: A major theft was reported at Hill Ridge Villas in Gachibowli, where unidentified persons allegedly stole around 1 kg of gold jewellery and diamonds from a businessman’s residence.
Family raises suspicion over domestic workers
According to the family, a Nepali couple employed as domestic workers about a month ago is under suspicion. The family members said they suspect the couple may be linked to the theft.
The theft came to light after the businessman’s family returned from Mumbai and found the gold and diamond ornaments missing. They subsequently lodged a complaint with the police.
Police examine CCTV footage
Police registered a case and launched an investigation. Officers are examining CCTV footage and have initiated efforts to trace the suspects.
Police have repeatedly advised residents to inform local authorities before employing workers from outside the state or country. However, many people continue to ignore the advisory, officials said.
