Gachibowli Clears Illegal Structures Built on FCI Layout Roads

HYDERABAD: The Serilingampally mandal administration on Monday removed several unauthorised structures built by Sandhya Sreedhar Rao along the main Gachibowli road. Officials used hydra machines to carry out the demolition in line with High Court directions issued for the Fertilizers Corporation of India Employees Cooperative Housing Society (FCI) layout.
High Court orders prompt clearance of encroachments
Officials said the constructions ignored designated roads and park spaces in the approved layout. A five-storey building erected across a 40-foot road using an iron frame was dismantled, restoring full access to the stretch.
A Mango Food Court built without leaving the required 40-foot road margin was also removed. In another location, a UNO Food Court that had blocked a 40-foot road was demolished to clear the passage.
Multiple food containers, kiosks pulled down
Authorities partially removed a petrol pump that had extended into the 40-foot road. At two spots, nearly 40 food containers, including Chinese food kiosks set up on 25-foot roads, were cleared.
Officials also removed cellar ramps of a hospital building that had protruded into a 40-foot road.
Plot owners welcome restored road network
In all, encroachments at seven locations were cleared. Officials noted that road limits were re-established across the FCI layout. Plot owners expressed relief, saying the restoration of internal roads followed long-pending High Court orders.
