G. Kishan Reddy slams Rahul Gandhi over AI Summit protest

TELANGANA: Union minister G. Kishan Reddy on Saturday alleged that Congress workers disrupted an international Artificial Intelligence (AI) summit at a time when India is emerging as a global technology power.
Addressing a press conference, he said the summit showcased India’s capabilities in Artificial Intelligence and featured innovative technologies and Guinness World Records that enhanced the country’s global standing.
He alleged that Congress workers, under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, created disturbances in the name of protest during the event. “Some activists protested in a semi-nude manner at the summit venue, which damaged India’s image on an international platform,” he said.
Protest at global event against national interest
Kishan Reddy said dissent and protests are natural in a democracy, but acting in a manner that harms the country’s reputation at an event attended by representatives of several nations is against national interest.
“For political gain, one should not belittle the country on the global stage. It is unfortunate that Congress leaders lack this understanding,” he said.
He termed the conduct of Congress leaders during the AI summit “unforgivable” and said the incident reflected frustration within the party.
Rahul Gandhi’s remarks misleading: Kishan Reddy
The minister accused Rahul Gandhi of repeatedly making remarks about changing the Constitution and removing reservations, and said such statements mislead the public and are contrary to facts.
He also alleged that whenever Rahul Gandhi travels abroad, he claims that there is no democracy in India and that civil rights are being undermined. “Despite such allegations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi continues to enhance India’s prestige and lead the country on the path of development,” he said, adding that people support Modi’s leadership for this reason.
Kishan Reddy said there are many ways to register protest in a democracy, but Congress leaders and workers chose to act in a manner that insulted the country in front of international delegates.
Naravane rejects China land claim allegation
Referring to remarks made by Rahul Gandhi in Parliament, the minister said Gandhi had alleged that China had occupied Indian land equivalent to the size of Delhi. Former Army chief Manoj Naravane had rejected the claim and clarified that no such situation existed, he added.
He accused the Congress of lowering India’s dignity for political interests and said Gandhi’s approach disrespects many who work for the country.
Comments on vaccine, surgical strikes
Kishan Reddy alleged that Rahul Gandhi had campaigned against the Covid vaccine, referring to it as “Modi vaccine”. He said the same critics later took the vaccine privately.
On surgical strikes, he said Congress leaders had sought proof even after soldiers spoke about the operations. “When Pakistani ministers and leaders admit in their Parliament that terror camps were destroyed, Congress leaders here undermine India’s action and success,” he said.
Telangana people condemn Congress conduct
Kishan Reddy said the Congress action at the AI summit should be condemned by all citizens. “On behalf of the people of Telangana, we condemn the conduct of the Congress party,” he said.
He added that all state governments and the top 100 companies in the country participated in the AI summit. With companies coming forward to invest lakhs of crores of rupees, it was unfortunate that the Opposition attempted to obstruct such an event, he said.
Accusing the Congress of conspiring against India’s development, he said Rahul Gandhi had never spoken positively about the development and progress achieved under the Modi government. “If the government makes mistakes, it is right to point them out. But one should not behave in a way that harms the country’s sovereignty and dignity,” he added.
