Here’s a quick look at the top 10 new shows and movies releasing between May 8 and May 10, 2025, across platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, JioHotstar, Apple TV+, and Zee5.

  1. Gram Chikitsalay (Amazon Prime Video – May 9)

    Gram Chikitsalay follows Dr. Prabhat, an idealistic doctor posted at a rundown Primary Health Center in the fictional village of Bhathkandi. Facing bureaucratic red tape and distrustful locals, he tries to revive the clinic and bridge the urban-rural divide in healthcare. Directed by Rahul Pandey and written by Vaibhav Suman and Shreya Shrivastava, the series stars Amol Parashar, Vinay Pathak, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, Anandeshwar Dwivedi, Akash Makhija, and Garima Vikrant Singh. Produced by The Viral Fever (TVF).

  2. Poker Face Season 2 (JioHotstar – May 8)

    Natasha Lyonne returns as Charlie Cale in the second season of Poker Face, the crime comedy-drama created by Rian Johnson. Charlie, gifted with the ability to detect lies, continues her journey across the U.S., solving murders while staying ahead of a casino boss. The show, known for its case-of-the-week structure, earned Lyonne an Emmy nomination in its debut season.

  3. Nonnas (Netflix – May 9)

    Directed by Stephen Chbosky and starring Vince Vaughn, Nonnas is inspired by Joe Scaravella, the Staten Island restaurateur who brought grandmothers from around the world into his kitchen. The film, written by Liz Maccie, was shot across New Jersey and acquired by Netflix in a high-profile deal. It portrays Scaravella’s vision of community and tradition through food.

        4. Long Way Home (Apple TV+ – May 9)

Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman reunite for another motorcycle journey in Long Way Home. The new 10-episode season sees them travel from Scotland to England via Scandinavia, the Arctic Circle, and continental Europe. Known for its scenic visuals and local encounters, the series is executive produced by McGregor, Boorman, David Alexanian, and Russ Malkin.

 

5. Conan O’Brien Must Go Season 2 (JioHotstar – May 8)

Conan O’Brien is back on the road in the second season of his Emmy-winning travel series. The show continues to follow O’Brien as he visits fans he previously spoke with on his podcast. Following his trips to Norway, Argentina, Thailand, and Ireland in Season 1, the comedian explores new destinations while blending humor and cultural exchange.

 

6. Bohurupi (Zee5 – Streaming now)

Bohurupi, the Bengali-language vigilante heist thriller directed by Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee, is now streaming on Zee5. Based on real events between 1998 and 2005, it features Abir Chatterjee, Shiboprosad Mukherjee, Ritabhari Chakraborty, and Koushani Mukherjee. The film was a box office success and received strong critical and audience response.

 

7. The Royals (Netflix – May 9)

This romantic comedy-drama series from directors Priyanka Ghose and Nupur Asthana stars Bhumi Pednekar, Ishaan Khatter, and Sakshi Tanwar. Produced by Pritish Nandy Communications, The Royals explores modern relationships and family dynamics with a lighthearted touch. The series is set to debut on Netflix.

 

8. Robinhood (Zee5 – May 10)

Originally slated for a December 2024 theatrical release, Robinhood was delayed and ultimately released in March 2025 to poor reviews. The Telugu-language heist comedy, starring Nithiin and Sreeleela, follows a modern-day thief turned reluctant bodyguard. Directed by Venky Kudumula, the film is now set for streaming on Zee5.

9. Jack (Netflix – May 8)

Jack, a Telugu-language spy action comedy directed by Bommarillu Bhaskar and starring Siddhu Jonnalagadda, Vaishnavi Chaitanya, and Prakash Raj, received negative reviews upon its theatrical release in April. The film follows the misadventures of a spy in a comedic twist on the genre and is now streaming on Netflix.

  1. Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi (ETV Win – May 8)

    Starring anchor Pradeep Machiraju and Deepika Pilli, this Telugu comedy-drama released in theatres in April and is now available on ETV Win. Directed by Nitin–Bharath, the film centers on a love story set against cultural clashes and generational expectations.
