Four-year-old girl killed in freak accident at Hayathnagar

Hyderabad: In a heart-wrenching road which took place at Hanuman Hills, Pedda Amberpet, Hayathnagar on Thursday afternoon, a four-year-old girl lost her life after a private van ran over her.
According to Hayathnagar police, Bobbilgama Ritwika, an LKG student at Sri Chaitanya School, tragically fell from the vehicle and came under the wheels of oncoming van and succumbed to fatal injuries. 27-year-old Ganesh, the driver of the van, was reportedly driving recklessly and carelessly. The van’s front tyre ran over the girl’s head and she sustained severe head injuries that led to her death on the spot.
Upon receiving information, the police rushed to the spot and moved her body to the Osmania General Hospital mortuary for postmortem. A case was registered and investigation is on.
Stabbing incident at Mettuguda
A mother and son sustained serious injuries after some unidentified assailants attacked them with sharp weapons in broad daylight in Mettuguda, Secunderabad on Thursday.
According to sources, the five assailants stopped the victims, 55-year-old Renuka and 35-year-old Yashwant, who were going on a bike, near Mettuguda and stabbed them with knives following an argument over some issue. The old enmity is said to be the reason for the attack.
The injured were immediately rushed to Gandhi Hospital by the Chilkalguda police where they are currently undergoing treatment. The police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident. They are also examining the CCTV footage of the area where the attack took place to establish the identity and arrest the attackers.
