Four arrested for vandalizing Gandhi statue in Pragathi Nagar
Kukatpally: Cyberabad police have arrested four individuals involved in vandalizing a Gandhi statue in Lake View Colony, Pragathi Nagar on Thursday.
The police identified the arrested accused as Koppadi Naveen, Varalakshmi Narasimha, Tannaru Brahmaiah, and Koorala Praveen.
According to the Cyberabad police, they received information on Monday night about unidentified individuals allegedly damaging the Gandhi statue in Lake View Colony, Pragathi Nagar. Following a complaint from Jagga Madhu Sudhan Reddy, a case was registered, and an investigation was initiated.
On Thursday afternoon, the Bachupally Police and Balanagar Zone SOT swiftly apprehended four suspects in the case. The police seized two motorcycles and four mobile phones from them. All four are residents of 191 Colony in Pragathi Nagar, Bachupally.

Cyberabad police investigation revealed that the suspects frequented the area near the statue at night to consume alcohol. After the Gandhi statue was installed, they felt it hindered their activities and, in frustration, resorted to vandalizing it.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Balanagar Zone, commended the Bachupally Police, ACP Kukatpally, Inspector Bachupally, and the SOT team of Balanagar Zone for their prompt and effective action in apprehending the suspects.
