Four arrested for robbing night commuters in KPHB & Balanagar limits
Hyderabad: The KPHB Police, along with the CCS Balanagar Police, have successfully apprehended a group of four accused individuals involved in a series of robberies targeting night-time commuters and pedestrians in the KPHB Police Station limits.
The accused have been identified as Beerbal Singh Beebanu, Bhagender Singh alias Bablu Singh, Ravi Singh Bowri, and Dandu Nagesh alias Bablu.
The robbers primarily targeted passengers and pedestrians traveling at night, using threats of violence to steal their belongings, including mobile phones and cash. The case is registered under Cr No: 1288/2024, Section 309(1) BNS, of KPHB Police Station.
According to police reports, one of the complainants, a cashier at RS Brothers Jewelry shop in KPHB Colony, had gone to Kaithlapur on November 12, 2024, for personal work. On his way back at around 11:30 p.m., near Lodha Apartments on Road No. 1, he was approached by transgenders who warned him about rowdies in the area. The complainant continued his journey but was later intercepted by two masked offenders on one motorcycle and two others on a second motorcycle. At knifepoint, the robbers snatched the complainant’s gold chain (weighing 1½ tolas), an IQ12 mobile phone, and his motorcycle key before fleeing the scene. Due to the darkness, the complainant could not identify the offenders.
Another incident occurred on the same night at around 12:15 a.m. when a complainant from Borabanda, along with his friend, stopped to urinate near Road No. 4 on Kaithlapur Road. The pair was ambushed by four masked individuals on two motorcycles who robbed the complainant of his Samsung mobile phone and quickly escaped.
Modus Operandi
The accused operated in two groups. One group served as lookouts while the other group committed the robberies. By targeting isolated areas during the night, the robbers sought to make easy money, preying on unsuspecting commuters. The accused had developed a pattern of robbing night travelers to fund their lavish lifestyles.

Following their arrest, the police recovered several stolen items from the accused:
Beerbal Singh Beebanu: OPPO and IQ12 mobile phones
Bhagender Singh alias Bablu Singh: Splendor bike, Realme mobile
Ravi Singh Bowri: OPPO and Samsung mobile phones
Dandu Nagesh alias Bablu: Honda DUO bike, POCO mobile
The police operation was led by SHO M. Venkateswara Rao, with assistance from DI K. Ravi Kumar, DSI Abdul Samad, HC E. Narender Goud, and Police Constables Chennaiah, Ramchander, Suresh, Adil Pasha, and WPC Sirisha. Their diligent efforts were carried out under the guidance of ACP Kukatpally K. Srinivas Rao and the supervision of DCP Balanagar K. Suresh Kumar.

The Assistant Commissioner of Police, Kukatpally Division, Cyberabad Commissionerate, has issued a public advisory urging citizens to report any information related to property offences to the police. Those with information may contact the police through the emergency number 100 or directly reach out to the KPHB Police Station at 8333993413. The identities of informants will be kept confidential.
