Former CSIR-NGRI scientist Ajai Manglik awarded DAE–Raja Ramanna Chair Fellowship
HYDERABAD: Former Scientist-G at the CSIR–National Geophysical Research Institute (CSIR-NGRI), Dr. Ajai Manglik, has been awarded the Department of Atomic Energy’s (DAE) prestigious DAE–Raja Ramanna Chair Fellowship for a tenure of three years.
Fellowship recognises distinguished scientific contributions
The DAE–Raja Ramanna Chair is a national fellowship that recognises distinguished retired scientists, engineers and technologists for their contributions to high-quality research. The programme enables eminent researchers to continue advanced scientific work while mentoring the next generation of scientists.
Research to focus on geophysical imaging and tectonic studies
Under the fellowship, Dr. Manglik will conduct research on developing and applying electromagnetic geophysics algorithms for continental collision tectonic studies and near-surface exploration.
His work will also focus on the integrated inversion of near-surface electromagnetic and magnetotelluric data to improve subsurface imaging and enhance the understanding of complex geological structures.
CSIR-NGRI welcomes fellowship recipient
Congratulating Dr. Manglik on the national recognition, CSIR-NGRI said it welcomed him to the institute under the DAE–Raja Ramanna Chair Fellowship. The institute said it looked forward to his continued contributions towards advancing geoscientific research and strengthening India’s capabilities in Earth system sciences.
