Gachibowli: A task force from the Telangana Commissioner of Food Safety conducted inspections on October 4, 2024, in the Gachibowli area, uncovering multiple food safety violations at local establishments such as Over The Moon Brew Company, Maredumilli Restaurant, and Dine-O-China Restaurants.

Over The Moon Brew Company

The inspection at Over The Moon Brew Company revealed serious violations, including the absence of a true copy of the FSSAI license displayed. A live cockroach infestation was observed in the store room, and several food items stored in the refrigerator were inadequately labelled. Particularly, a 0.5 kg packet of kali mirchi was found to be beyond its use-by date of September 6, 2024.

Additionally, seven packets of BBQ sauce lacked proper FSSAI licensing, logos, and importer details. Spoiled and damaged raw vegetables, including tomatoes, lemons, and cauliflower, were found without appropriate sorting.

Moreover, medical fitness certificates for food handlers were not available, although they were observed wearing hair caps and aprons. Pest control records and water analysis reports were present, and FoStaC-trained personnel were available at the premises.

Maredumilli Restaurant

The task force also identified multiple violations at Maredumilli Restaurant, including the lack of a true copy of the FSSAI license displayed. A live cockroach infestation was found inside the kitchen refrigerator.

Open drains with stagnant water were found, and dustbins were observed to be open without lids. Khowa found inside the refrigerator was expired as of August 5, 2024.

Moreover, the restaurant’s windows lacked insect-proof screens, and the doors were not adequately fitted to prevent pest entry. Food articles in the refrigerator were covered but not labelled. Pest control records were available at the premises.

Dine-O-China

At Dine-O-China, officials discovered that the FSSAI license true copy was also not displayed. The establishment had windows that were not fitted with insect-proof screens and doors that were not properly sealed to prevent pest entry.

Medical fitness certificates for food handlers and water analysis reports were also not available. Clogged drains with stagnant water were observed, and food articles stored in the refrigerator were covered but not properly labelled.
