Violations found at Kodikura Chittigare, Athidhi, Angaara restaurants in Miyapur

Miyapur: A task force from the Telangana Commissioner of Food Safety conducted inspections in the Miyapur area on September 30, 2024, revealing multiple food safety violations at Kodikura Chittigare, Athidhi, and Angaara restaurants.
Kodikura Chittigare
During the raid at Kodikura Chittigare, food safety officials discovered that although the establishment displayed its FSSAI license prominently, it failed to maintain pest control records. Water analysis reports were obtained from a non-NABL laboratory.
Additionally, windows and doors in the kitchen were not fitted with insect-proof screens, and houseflies were observed entering through an open backdoor.
Task force team has conducted inspections in Miyapur area on 30.09.2024.

Athidhi Restaurant
At Athidhi Restaurant, officials found the FSSAI license on display. However, the kitchen was open to the outside environment and lacked insect-proof screens. The tiles on the kitchen walls and floor were broken and in unsanitary condition.
Some food items stored in the refrigerator were uncovered and unlabelled. Officials noted that cosmetic-grade rose water was being used in food items like lassi. The refrigerator’s interior was rusted, and raw chicken was stored without proper containers or coverings.
Open dustbins and live cockroach infestations were found in the kitchen. Medical fitness certificates and water analysis reports were also missing, leading to the disposal of three unlabelled packets of noodles.

Angaara Restaurant
At Angaara Restaurant, major violations were identified, including the absence of the FSSAI license displayed prominently. The kitchen was in highly unhygienic conditions, with patchy and uneven flooring, broken tiles, and water stagnation.
Cobwebs were also observed, and a live cockroach infestation was reported. Although food articles in the refrigerator were covered, they were not labelled. The fridge itself was unhygienic, and dustbins were found open without proper lids.
The kitchen was also open to the outside environment and lacked insect-proof screens. Additionally, water stagnation and spillage were observed near drains, and synthetic food colours suspected of being used in non-vegetarian dishes were discarded. Like the previous establishments, medical fitness certificates, pest control records, and water analysis reports were unavailable.
In response to these findings, the task force has taken immediate action to ensure compliance with food safety standards and to protect public health.
