Food Safety Violations At Alpha Hotel

Secunderabad: The task force team of the Telangana Commissioner of Food Safety conducted inspections at Alpha Hotel in Secunderabad area on Wednesday. The task force team alleged that the food business operator(FBO) didnโ€™t cooperate with the food safety official during inspections and refused to sign the inspection report at the end.

The task force team found violations of Improper storage of raw meat and semi prepared food articles in refrigerator with possibility of cross-contamination, Unhygienic conditions like open dustbins, plastering flakes on ceiling were observed,

Further other violations include Kitchen premises were not fitted with proper insect-proof screen and FSSAI license true copy was displayed at the entrance of the premises.

Alpha brand ice cream and bread packets were found without manufacturing date and batch numbers. Dust Tea powder packets are also observed without batch numbers.

โ€œThe FBO hindered the food safety officials during inspections and refused to sign the inspection report at the end. As per FSS Act 2006, a case will be booked on the FBP , with a punishment upto 3 months imprisonment and fine upto Rs 1 Lakhโ€, said Food safety officials in an official note.

In another raid on Raj Bar and Restaurant, Secunderabad, the task force team found a Rat was near the dustbin area. No rat traps arranged, Synthetic food colours found in the kitchen were discarded on the spot, Improper storage of semi-prepared food articles observed and Premises not fitted with insect proof screens. Kitchen floor and ceiling found with patches and dust.

Further task force team found that the FSSAI license copy expired six years ago i.e, 05.06.2018 and no valid FSSAI license available with the FBO and Medical Fitness Certificates for food handlers and pest control records not available.
