Multiple food safety violations found in Ashok Nagar eateries
Hyderabad: A task force from the Telangana Commissioner of Food Safety conducted inspections in the Ashoknagar area of Hyderabad on September 9, 2024. They discovered multiple food safety violations at local food establishments and hostels.

At Padmavathi Tiffins, officials found several issues, including the absence of a displayed FSSAI license and missing pest control and medical fitness records. The establishment’s flooring was patchy, with water stagnation observed.
Additionally, the windows lacked insect-proof screens, and the drains were dirty and stagnant. A live cockroach infestation was discovered in the storeroom, and stored items were not labeled. Raw food articles were found directly on the floor, with rat burrows suggesting a possible rodent infestation.
Food handlers were not wearing hair caps or aprons, and the washroom, attached to the grinding area, was unhygienic with a foul odour inside the kitchen.
