Food Safety Task Force discovers unlicensed hostels in Ayyappa Society, Madhapur
Hyderabad: The task force team of Telangana Commissioner of Food Safety, along with the ‘Food Safety on Wheels’ vehicle, conducted inspections in PGs/Hostels situated in the Ayyappa Society, Madhapur area on Wednesday, June 19. It was identified that six hostels were in operation without a valid FSSAI license.
R3 Colive
R3 Colive was found to have rusted dosa tawas and gutkha spit marks on the kitchen walls, as well as an unhygienic kitchen. In addition, there were rotten tomatoes, potatoes, and colored chips in a stale condition. The task force said that the samples of chili sauce, tomato sauce, and tea powder (which showed the presence of color) failed in spot tests.

In Sri Laxmi Executive Menโs Hostel, there were instances of potatoes infested with fungi, tomatoes in a state of decay, and a dosa tawa showing signs of rust. Additionally, the tea powder did not pass spot testing due to the presence of extraneous color.
Food Safety team, along with ‘Food Safety on Wheels’ vehicle, has conducted inspections in PGs/Hostels in Ayyappa Society, Madhapur area on 19.06.2024. The six hostels below were found to be operating ๐๐ถ๐๐ต๐ผ๐๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ ๐๐ฆ๐ฆ๐๐ ๐น๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ฒ.

The following food items, like, chicken curry (April 2024), mutton biryani (April 2024), and fish masala (May 2024), were found in Hari Heaven Luxury Menโs Hostel. The task force observed ants in the water dispenser, a rusted dosa tawa, and improper storage of raw materials.

During the inspection, the examination revealed unsanitary conditions, notably including the presence of rusted dosa tawas, cockroaches within the kitchen area, and open dustbins, within the men’s hostel.

During the inspection, the authorities found rusted dosa tawas and open dustbins. Rice flour was observed to be infested with pests. The chili sauce sample failed the spot test in Tirumala Executive Menโs Hostel.

The Food Safety Task Force found the usage of synthetic food colors. Unhygienic conditions were observed in the work area, refrigerator, and wash area. Drinking water (pH 8.45) failed the spot test.
The above establishments provided samples of loose dals, rawa, packed masala powder, etc., for lab tests. The task force team of the Telangana Commissioner of Food Safety said notices will be issued.
