Task Force seizes 50 Kg of ghee from Mysore Store, inspects dairies in Koti

Hyderabad: The Commissioner of the Food Safety Task Force inspected several dairy stores in the Koti area on August 3, 2024, and uncovered multiple violations of food safety regulations.

The inspection revealed that Mysore Ghee Stores did not display a true copy of the FSSAI license at the premises. Packed food items, including dry fruits, butter, and ghee, were found lacking essential labels such as the FSSAI license number and use-by dates. Additionally, 50 one-kilogram packets of ghee were seized due to the absence of labels. The store also failed to provide medical fitness certificates for food handlers and pest control records. Food handlers were not wearing hair caps or gloves, though food items on display were labeled with preparation and use-by dates.

Sri Murugan Ghee Stores was found lacking several important documents, including medical fitness certificates for food handlers, pest control records, and the FSSAI license displayed at the premises. The storeroom and packing area had broken windows and were not fitted with insect-proof screens. Despite these issues, food handlers were observed wearing hair caps and gloves, and food articles for sale were labeled with preparation and use-by dates.

Shree Mahalakshmi Kendra, Kutbiguda, Koti
Shree Mahalakshmi Kendra did not display a true copy of the FSSAI license on the premises. However, packed food items such as ghee and sweets were properly labeled. The store lacked medical fitness certificates for food handlers and pest control records. Food handlers were found without hair caps and gloves. Samples of Shree Mahalakshmi Brand milk were collected and sent for analysis to check for possible adulteration.

The Food Safety Task Force has initiated necessary actions against the establishments found to be violating food safety regulations. The authorities will continue to monitor food safety standards in the city.
