Food Safety officials found violations at different outlets in Hyd

HYDERABAD: Recent food safety inspections in Hyderabad have revealed alarming violations in several popular outlets like Cream Stone, Bilal Ice Cream, and Karachi Bakery, sparking concerns about public health standards and regulatory oversight in the city.

Cream Stone

The Task Force of the Telangana Commissioner of Food Safety recently carried out an inspection at the Cream Stone Outlet in Hyderabad. During the inspection, expired strawberry paste was discovered and promptly removed. Improper storage of pineapple titbits in inadequate cold conditions was also noted.

Furthermore, cakes and pastries were found to be lacking ‘use by’ dates. The outlet is set to receive official notices, and adjudication proceedings are imminent.

Bilal Ice Cream

In another examination at Bilal Ice Cream in the Moazzam Jahi Market area, it was found that the establishment, including its manufacturing unit, was operating without a valid license or registration.

Authorities also seized counterfeit branded water bottles. A notice has been issued to Bilal Ice Cream, and further actions are pending. These discoveries have raised concerns regarding food safety standards at well-known local ice cream outlets.

Karachi Bakery

Food safety authorities also discovered expired biscuits and chocolate cakes at Karachi Bakery. Outdated stocks of rusks, biscuits, candies, chocolate cakes, toasts, and buns valued at Rs 5,200 were disposed of. – Pastries and cakes lacking use-by dates, thus breaching FSSAI regulations. – Various unlabeled products were found to be in violation of the FSSAI Act.

During the inspection at Clove Vegetarian Fine Dine, the task force teams discovered expired cheese, syrup, ATC spices, sandwich bread, and brown sugar. Live cockroaches were found in the ice cream storage unit, and cooked vegetable biryani was stored in the fridge.

Sarath City Mall

The Firefly restaurant at Sarath City Mall was found to have hygiene and pest-related violations. Air Live, another restaurant located at the same mall, was discovered to be selling substandard water bottles. Taco Bell, also situated at Sarath City Mall, was found to be re-using oil.
