Hajj 2025: First batch of Hajj pilgrims from Hyderabad lands in Madinah

Hyderabad: The first batch of Hajj pilgrims from Hyderabad arrived in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday. The first chartered flight carrying Indian pilgrims landed at the Prince Muhammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah.
Ambassador Suhel Ajaz Khan, Consul General Fahad Khan and Hajj Consul Mohammed Jalil received the pilgrims on arrival at the airport. After arriving in the city of the Prophet Muhammad, the pilgrims were filled with joy. From there, they will travel to the city of Makkah for Hajj.
Earlier, the first batch of Hajj pilgrims was ceremoniously flagged off from the Hajj House to the Shamshabad airport by Shaikh-ul-Jamia of Jamia Nizamia, Maulana Mufti Khalil Ahmad, Chairman of Telangana State Hajj Committee Moulana Syed Ghulam Afzal Biyabani, Chairman of Telangana Waqf Board, Syed Azmatullah Hussaini and Chairman of Telangana State Minority Finance Corporation, Mohammed Obaidullah Kotwal. The special buses carried 285 pilgrims to the airport.
A total of seven flights will depart from Hyderabad’s airport between April 29 and May 13, taking pilgrims directly to Madinah. Flights departing from May 16 onward will land in Jeddah. The final flight of pilgrims is scheduled for May 29, 2025.
This year, nearly 7,000 pilgrims are expected to perform Hajj. These pilgrims will travel to Saudi Arabia from Hyderabad in 31 batches over the next month. Additionally, 12,000 more pilgrims from different parts of the country, including 1,200 from Andhra Pradesh, will embark on their Hajj journey from Hyderabad airport.
Since the pilgrims are required to reach Hajj House at Nampally 48 hours before their flight, the officials have arranged accommodation for the pilgrims who are coming from various districts. Meanwhile, the Indian embassy and the consulate have also set up a help desk at Madinah airport to assist Indian pilgrims.
