Fire breaks out at plastic godown in Balapur; No casualties reported

Hyderabad: A fire broke out at a plastic godown in Bismillah Colony under the jurisdiction of the Balapur police station in the Rachakonda Commissionerate on Tuesday morning. However, no casualties have been reported.

According to reports, the fire started in the plastic godown, prompting immediate action from firefighters who are currently working to control the blaze. Fire engines were swiftly deployed to the scene to contain the flames.

Balapur police also arrived at the location and are investigating the cause of the fire.

Earlier on December 21, 2024, a fire erupted at the Sattva Elixir building in Madhapur, opposite Inorbit Mall, around 6 a.m. The blaze affected the fourth and fifth floors of the building, creating a thick plume of smoke that engulfed the area.

Despite the severity of the situation, no casualties or injuries were reported. Four fire engines were dispatched to the scene to extinguish the flames.

A spokesperson for the Sattva Group confirmed the fire and praised the quick response from both their on-site emergency team and the state fire department. โ€œThe fire was quickly detected and contained by our emergency team,โ€ the spokesperson said. โ€œThere were no injuries, and the situation is now under control.โ€

These incidents come in the wake of several other fires in the city. On December 19, a fire broke out in a paan shop opposite the Mahankali Taj Mahal Tri-Star Hotel in Secunderabad. The fire reportedly started when a lamp near a deity caught fire. Local residents alerted firefighters, who responded quickly and extinguished the flames. No injuries were reported.

On the same day, a major fire broke out at the Super Furniture Works in Madannapet, located across from the Old Eidgah. The blaze spread to three adjacent shops, prompting a response from firefighters from multiple stations. After three hours, the fire was brought under control, and fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Earlier, on December 6, a fire at Malakpet Metro Station caused panic when a bike parked under the station caught fire, sending thick smoke into the area. Firefighters managed to contain the blaze quickly. However, the incident caused significant traffic congestion, and authorities advised commuters to avoid the station during firefighting operations.

On November 30, a fire broke out at the Prism Club and Kitchen in Gachibowli. Although no injuries were reported, the incident caused panic within the building. Firefighters controlled the fire, but the blaze’s cause remains unclear.
