Fire breaks out in paan shop in Secunderabad

Secunderabad: A fire broke out in a paan shop located opposite Mahankali Taj Mahal Tri-Star Hotel under the Secunderabad Police Station limits at around 2:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2024.
According to reports, the fire started when a lamp placed near a deity inside the shop caught fire. Locals, noticing the flames, quickly alerted firefighters, who responded promptly to the scene.
Firefighters arrived with a fire engine and successfully extinguished the blaze, preventing further damage.
No casualties have been reported, and authorities are investigating the cause of the incident.
Recent Fire Incidents in Hyderabad
In recent weeks, Hyderabad has witnessed several fire incidents. On Thursday, December 19, 2024, a massive fire broke out at a furniture workshop in Madannapet, located across from the Old Eidgah. The fire started at Super Furniture Works and quickly spread across three shops in the workshop.
Reports indicate no injuries were reported. Fire trucks from Malakpet, Chandrayangutta, Musheerabad, and Moghalpura were immediately dispatched to the scene, along with teams from the Disaster Response Force (DRF) and local police. After about three hours, the fire was brought under control.
Locals reported hearing a loud noise before noticing flames, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
Earlier, on Friday, December 6, 2024, a fire broke out at the Malakpet Metro Station. The blaze, which started from a bike parked under the station, sent thick smoke into the area, causing panic among commuters. Firefighters responded quickly, and the fire was contained. Traffic congestion in the area led authorities to advise commuters to avoid the station during firefighting operations.
On November 30, a fire occurred at the Prism Club and Kitchen in Gachibowli. Although no injuries were reported, the fire created panic among those in the building. Firefighters quickly controlled the fire, though the cause remains unclear.
Earlier on November 30, a fire also broke out at a cotton godown in Pudur village, Medchal, causing the building to collapse. The fire, which started at the Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) godown, spread quickly due to the flammable cotton stored inside. Fortunately, the workers inside the godown managed to escape, and no casualties were reported. However, officials estimated the damage to be in the crores. Firefighters worked diligently to contain the blaze.
