Fire breaks out at MN Polymers in Kukatpally; No casualties reported

Hyderabad: A major fire broke out at MN Polymers, a manufacturing unit producing plastic glass and paper plates, in Prashanth Nagar, Kukatpally, on the night of February 23-24, 2025. The fire caused potential damage to the facility, destroying raw materials and products ready for sale.
According to the reports, the fire was triggered by a short circuit, which quickly spread to the inventory. Workers evacuated the building immediately after noticing the flames; fortunately, no injuries were reported. Two fire engines were dispatched to the site, and the flames were battled for over three hours before the situation was controlled.
While no casualties were reported, the fire destroyed much of the factory’s inventory. The exact financial loss is still being assessed, but officials anticipate it to be substantial. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the short circuit.
Recent Fire Incidents Raise Safety Concerns
A series of fire incidents in Hyderabad have raised concerns about public safety. On the evening of February 22, 2025, a tipper truck caught fire in Kachavani Singaram, Medchal district. The driver managed to remain alert, and no casualties were reported. Firefighters responded quickly to extinguish the flames.
Also on February 22, a fire broke out at the Manikanta Timber Depot warehouse in Karmanghat, Saroornagar, near the Anjaneya Swamy Temple. The fire caused significant damage, but no casualties were reported. Local residents alerted the fire department, and firefighters brought the blaze under control within an hour.
Earlier, on February 18, 2025, two Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) buses caught fire at the Kushaiguda bus depot. Firefighters quickly responded, and no injuries or casualties were reported.
On February 2, 2025, a fire broke out in a building near Kishan Bagh X Roads in the Old City. The fire started in the cellar and spread to the upper floors. Firefighters brought the fire under control, and no casualties were reported despite thick smoke engulfing the building.
In January, a fire occurred at a tiffin centre in Nizampet, Bachupally, likely triggered by an LPG leak. The fire was extinguished quickly, and no injuries were reported. Another fire broke out at the VVC Motors showroom in Kondapur, Ranga Reddy district, destroying seven cars. Firefighters brought the blaze under control without any casualties.
