Hyderabad: A fire broke out at Minerva Grand Hotel in Himayathnagar on the night of January 5, 2025. The blaze reportedly started in the kitchen area and originated from the chimney.

According to the reports, firefighters quickly arrived at the scene and managed to control the flames. No casualties were reported.

The fire caused guests to panic, and many rushed out of the hotel. Traffic in the area came to a halt as a large crowd gathered in front of the building. Initial reports indicate that the chimney was damaged, but the rest of the hotel is unaffected.

Earlier fire incidents in Hyderabad:

This is not the first fire incident in Hyderabad in recent weeks. On January 1, 2025, a lorry carrying hardware materials caught fire in the Jeedimetla Industrial Area after coming into contact with a high-tension wire. The fire quickly spread to a nearby HMWSSB water tanker. Firefighters from the Jeedimetla Fire Station responded promptly, bringing the blaze under control. Both vehicle drivers managed to escape the flames.

Another fire occurred on December 31, 2024, at a plastic godown in Bismillah Colony, within the jurisdiction of the Balapur police station under the Rachakonda Commissionerate. Fortunately, there were no casualties in the incident.

On December 21, 2024, a fire erupted at the Sattva Elixir building in Madhapur, opposite Inorbit Mall. The fire affected the fourth and fifth floors, sending thick plumes of smoke into the area. However, no injuries were reported, and four fire engines were dispatched to control the blaze. A spokesperson for the Sattva Group commended the swift response from their emergency team and the state fire department.

Earlier, on December 19, 2024, a fire broke out at a paan shop opposite the Mahankali Taj Mahal Tri-Star Hotel in Secunderabad. The fire reportedly started from a lamp near a deity but was quickly extinguished by firefighters, and no injuries were reported. On the same day, a significant fire occurred at Super Furniture Works in Madannapet, spreading to three adjacent shops. Firefighters worked for three hours to bring the flames under control, with no injuries reported.

Another fire incident took place on December 6, 2024, at Malakpet Metro Station when a parked bike caught fire, sending thick smoke into the area. Firefighters managed to contain the blaze quickly, but the incident caused significant traffic congestion.
